The NHS Swindon carer liaison team has produced a specialist DVD called Care in the Community which will be launched on Monday 7 March at STEAM on Kemble Drive.
Carers from a black or ethnic minority background are invited to the launch and will have the chance to find out what support is available for them.
Linda O’Gorman from the NHS Swindon carer liaison team said: ‘All carers need to be able to access services that are sensitive to their specific cultural needs. We hope that carers from black and minority ethnic groups will come along to the launch so we can help tailor our services for them.’
Jennie MacCready of the community engagement team said: ‘We need people to tell us what they need so we have good communication and can share ideas and improve services.
‘We hope this event will give all those who attend the opportunity to find out what support services are available to carers in BME communities.’
To find out more and book your place, please contact the community engagement and development team on 01793 463261. A light lunch will be available at the launch plus tea and coffee throughout the day.
