On 1 February, Chris Pitman, Chris Baxter and Nick Howson took the Sports Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma students to Chelsea Football Club for a Business Tour and Club Lunch, to tie into a study unit which relates to sports business.
Chris Pitman organised the visit to the Club to allow the students to gain experience from a business point of view as well as a sporting one. They started with a Chelsea Football Club business presentation with a question and answer session and then enjoyed a Chelsea Football Club lunch.
Sam Bramfitt said: “Students were all presented with a full learning package which included Health and Safety at the club, components of fitness for sports professionals, leadership at the club, diet nutrition and training principles within coaching sports professionals, and finally respect in the game linked heavily with equality and diversity within football in the UK. All the topics had financial links, such as players being fit equating to winning games and more profit for the club financially.”
