The countdown to the Census has started and the awareness campaign has been launched.
Census Day takes place on March 27 and the Office of National Statistics (ONS) is calling on every household to make sure the form is returned.
The information collected is critical to the future planning and delivery of vital community services, and has a bearing on the scale of central government funding allocated to Swindon Borough Council and other local authorities to support the delivery of those services.
Census area manager for Swindon, Cheltenham and Cotswold, Alex Todd said, “The advertising campaign has commenced, and 230 jobs have been created in the area so far. In the current climate when every penny of funding counts, it’s vital that everyone takes part in the Census so we can properly plan services for the future.”
