IT Software Services Company Verelogic and Total Guide to Swindon presented a cheque of £3,000 to Swindon Ten to Eighteen Project (STEP) – a young people’s charity based in Nythe, on Wednesday 19 September.
The two local companies teamed up to host a marathon 24 hour 5-a-side football match, on Saturday 7 July, to raise funds for this very worthy local charity to help them continue their work supporting local young people in the Swindon area. STEP work with young people aged 10-18 who are experiencing difficulties in their lives, delivering therapeutic group sessions. These help develop life and social skills and encourage young people to make a positive contribution to society, with recognition of achievement through accreditation.
Kevin Metcalfe CEO of Verelogic IT Solutions said: “it’s a privilege to be supporting such a worthy charity working to help local people. “STEP is doing amazing work and has improved the lives of so many young people, we identified that they need additional funding to carry on this work, so we aim to raise as much money as possible for what is a fantastic cause.”
Liz Ledger, Director of Total Swindon added, “The 24 hour five-a-side football event was a tough challenge for all those taking part but the determination of all meant it was a great event.”
Johanna Bryant, Project Director at STEP said: “we are so grateful to both companies for putting on this event. It was a great opportunity for us to raise additional funds to support the work we do and help boost our profile within the community.
