Swindon’s housing market is buoyant with buyers swarming to the town from the more expensive areas to the east, according to Strakers Estate Agents who are celebrating three different anniversaries.
It’s six months since the opening of their branch at Redhouse Village Centre, and ten years since the Strakers name was established in Swindon, as well as 20 years since the first office opened in Wiltshire.
The Redhouse branch of the estate agents is celebrating by holding an open doors event over the weekend of 18 and 19 April with guaranteed viewings on over 650 properties ranging from £60,000 to £1.3 million.
Director Paul Dearing: “Despite the internet, house buyers like to meet estate agents in the areas they’re considering. Local knowledge is really important for potential buyers, especially if they’re visiting from out of town. All of us have lived in Swindon for many years; I currently live in Haydon End and Lindy lived in North Swindon for ten years.
“Swindon continues to attract a lot of potential buyers from more expensive areas, east towards London particularly, and the Bristol area. For example a two bed flat in Reading for £240,000 could buy you a four bed house here.
“The last 12 months has seen significant price increases and we have seen a lot more interest in buying and selling houses in the last few weeks as Spring approaches. As ever the right house type, in the right location, at the right price will always sell.”
