Three students from Swindon College helped out veterinary training company Improve International with photography for their website.
Improve International was founded in 1998 by veterinary surgeons from across the UK, including a number of recognised experts. It provides high quality CPD in a range of formats for veterinary surgeons, veterinary nurses and practice managers to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
The HND Photography year 1 students visited the Wroughton based company to take shots of the staff and their pets, armed with equipment such as backdrops and lighting to make sure the picture looked professional.
Great experience to work with real customers
In an open discussion students Keith Husthouse, Daniel Mace and Debby Macchiarell said: “This project was really useful and working from a live brief and dealing with real customers is great experience. Commercial photography is something you can’t really plan so we were learning as we were working. It is quite difficult sometimes with group photos as not everyone likes their picture being taken, so being involved with clients and developing skills is really important to our future careers.”
Pleased to be able to support local students
Jan Sangster UK Business Manager for Improve International said: “The project went excellently. The students were very professional and we really enjoyed working with them. The results are exactly what we wanted and we are extremely pleased and proud to be able to support local learners by giving them the opportunity to work in a commercial environment. I hope that they feel the experience was as productive and worthwhile as we do.”
