Former Highworth Warneford student 16 year old Ellie Wilson from Blunsdon has begun a full time three year degree course in Ballet and Contemporary Dance at London’s exclusive Rambert School.
Ellie attended local dance schools from the age of six, and has been a member of the English National Ballet Youth Company since 2012, participating in weekly classes and rehearsals in London.
In July this year she performed at London Coliseum in English National Ballet’s Tribute to Rudolf Nureyev, and has appeared at the Wyvern during the recent pantomimes Aladdin and Cinderella. Next February she will be performing at a charity event at Stockport Plaza.
Following a gruelling schedule Ellie has also taken part in classes at the Classical Ballet Academy in Tring and dances with Bristol Russian Ballet Youth Company on Sundays.
Commenting on her move to London, where she will live with a host family during term time, Ellie said: "It’s an exciting experience but quite surreal at the same time. I know I am going to miss everyone, but I am really looking forward to beginning my journey to fulfil my dreams of being a ballerina.
"I feel privileged to be going as the school only offers about 30 places in the first year.”
