Jack, played by Samuel Parker, and Jill, played by Hollie Evans, from the Wyvern Theatre’s pantomime will visit Swindon’s Central Library on Saturday 2 November at 11am for a FREE story time event as part of the Family Fun Day.
“I am so excited to be playing Jill at the Wyvern Theatre,” said Hollie Evans. “The thing I love most about pantomime is that for many children – myself included – it’s their first introduction to the world of theatre.
"I remember it being a magical world that I so wanted to be a part of; it was my first experience of being on stage, and has kept me treading the boards ever since. I can’t wait to bring the story of Jack and the Beanstalk to the next generation. I hope they enjoy it as much as I will!”
The Wyvern Theatre is teaming up with a number of local organisations to create a Family Fun Day on Saturday 2 November, which will form part of the UK-wide Family Arts Festival during the October half-term. Other characters appearing on the day include The Gruffalo, Daisy the Cow from this year’s pantomime and Mr Potato from Peppa Pig and Tweedy the Clown.
“Children are the next generation of theatregoers,” said Theatre Director Derek Aldridge. “Our Family Fun Day will enabled many to experience their first taste of theatre and we hope to welcome many families back for this year’s giant pantomime adventure.”
Jack and the Beanstalk will run at the Wyvern Theatre from Saturday 7 December 2013 to Sunday 5 January 2014.
