Charli Roberts, a former Greendown School pupil from West Swindon, is studying for a degree in Fashion and Textile Design with Enterprise at University of Portsmouth and along with four fellow students they have launched Little Phoenix.
Charli says: “Little Phoenix began at the end of 2011. We saw a gap in the childrenswear market for products handmade with love, care and something which would be unique and a one off garment. We began designing little girls’ summer dresses. We took inspiration from birds and fruit to add intricate, delicate prints.
“We researched and discovered children’s love of pockets and putting their hands and other things in them! By creating small embellished pockets and larger full pockets we have made a feature which children can explore and play with.
“The prints were an immediate success with those who saw them and we have therefore incorporated these designs onto bags, bibs and babygros to expand our product range. We hope to expand even more”.
