Easter holidays will be very special for a young trampolinist from Swindon when she compete in her first international event in Russia.
Georgia Clements from Grange Park was selected on 13 March to represent Great Britain in the junior girls competition in Double Mini Trampoline at the 23rd European Championships in St Petersburg, Russia from 9 to 14 April.
The 15 year old Greendown School pupils flies out with her four team mates on Easter Sunday 8 April.
Georgia is currently studying hard for her GCSE’s this summer and has had to juggle her schoolwork with a very busy training schedule in Bracknell five times a week.
Mum Donna said: "Georgia has worked really hard in her sport for several years, and also on her school work. We’d all like to say a massive thank you to Greendown for supporting her and allowing her time out to compete in competition throughout her five years at the school; without this support she would not be where she is today."
Georgia herself is looking forward to the chance to be part of team GB. "It’s my biggest challenge yet, but I aim to rise to it to my team."
Georgia was recently voted Swindon Advertiser Young Sportswomen for 2011.
