The centrepiece of the Windmill Hill Business Park in West Swindon is one of the stories that will be featured in the autumn edition of Swindon Heritage magazine, to be published at the end of August.
The park’s iconic windmill originally stood in Chiseldon, but was moved, stone by stone and rebuilt in the 1980s.
The process was captured by long serving Swindon freelance photographer Richard Wintle, whose images often feature in The Link magazine.
His archive pictures create a fascinating feature on the re-purposing of an historic building.

Editor Graham Carter said: “I expect some newcomers to Swindon think the windmill has always been there, so we are telling its story through Richard’s images.
“He was often there with his camera, recording events at Chiseldon and Windmill Hill as they unfolded, which he describes.”
The new edition will also feature Royal Wootton Bassett-based funfair family, the Scarrotts.
There’s an article about an imprinted brick from St Mary’s Church in Lydiard Park.
The quarterly Swindon Heritage is available from various outlets around town for £4.99.
