53-year-old Diane Collinge owned her own horse for over 30 years, but when the financial cost became too much she was forced to give it up. Now, as part of a competition to be treated as a queen for the day, Diane has been given the opportunity to get ‘back in the saddle’.
Diane entered the competition, which was run by award-winning letting agent Swindon Home Finders to celebrate the launch of its re-brand, after a flyer came through her letterbox, but never thought she had any hope of winning.
Diane said: “When I received the phone call to tell me I’d won, I thought it was some sort of joke, I just couldn’t believe it.”
As part of her prize, Diane enjoyed a range of luxurious treats. Her day began with a team of professional cleaners visiting her home, while she was whisked away to the stables for a private horse riding lesson. Diane and her family then enjoyed a three-course lunch, prepared by a private chef in their own home. In the afternoon, Diane enjoyed a massage and getting her hair and make-up done, before a limo picked her and her family up and took them to the West End to watch Oliver! at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane.
Speaking about her day, Diane said: “I couldn’t possibly choose a favourite part of the day because the whole day was lovely; I felt like royalty. Having a private chef was wonderful and the food was excellent. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day – I could easily get used to being treated like a queen.”
Sue Gidney of Swindon Home Finders said: “We decided we wanted to do something special to celebrate the launch of our re-brand, and giving a member of the public the opportunity to be treated like royalty seemed like a great way to demonstrate the exceptional level of customer service that lies at the core of our business.
”It sounds like Diane had a lovely day and I’m really pleased that we were able to make the day so personal to her by giving her the opportunity to get back on a horse after owning her own for so many years.”
