After 20 years as the man behind some of Swindon MS Therapy Centre’s biggest fundraising achievements, David Wray is going out in style by competing in the Prudential Ride London on Sunday 10 August.
The 100 mile cycling event provides the opportunity for amateurs and fundraisers to ride the same closed roads as professionals who will race once the charity riders have finished, and the action will be broadcast live on TV.
Over 21 years David has become a familiar sight collecting for the charity. For the last 11 years he has been chairman, overseeing the 2010 purchase of the charity’s own building in Westlea and coordinating the effort to meet the £160,00 annual running costs.
David will also be leaving Voluntary Action Swindon where he has been chief executive for the last five years. His wife Jackie, who has been the manager at the MS Therapy Centre for ten years, will be stepping down. A new life beckons for both in November.
