The Oasis Leisure Centre was jammed for the tenth Scalextric Swap Meet on Sunday 5 January to see cars zooming around three track layouts and a full scale drag strip.
Over 65 stalls had hundreds of new model cars for sale as well as used versions, tracks and accessories.
Mature enthusiasts from across the southern half of the country mixed with young people bitten by the Scalextric bug.
The event was a family expedition for Geoffrey Horler from Midsomer Norton who travelled to Swindon with his son and grandchildren.
"The show was really impressive with so much to do and see, and have a go," said Geoffrey. "I spent £65 on a new model car and also a model locomotive. I have a Scalextric track in the spare bedroom and a railway layout in the loft.
"My son and both his children also bought cars; there was so much to choose from They loved watching the cars around the tracks and also had a go. It was a very entertaining outing. Even though we spent a lot of money, it was worth it."
Swap meet organiser Robert Learmouth from North Swindon, who has been organising the event for the last 10 years, said: "I think it was one of best shows; the bad weather in the days before perhaps encouraged more people to come along to get out of the wet.
“Swindon’s central location means that we attract people from the local area and much further afield."
