When young people should be sunning themselves in Ibiza, a group of New College Students and lecturers will be taking part in the tough Three Peaks 24 Hours Challenge on 18 and 19 August to raise money for the teenage cancer trust.
Thomas Hawkins from West Swindon took responsibility for recruiting fellow students students and lecturers to participate in his project after hearing his cousin had been diagnosed with a serious form of cancer.

Thomas said: “I was absolutely devastated when I heard the news, but soon realised that getting upset wasn’t going to help the situation so I started to think about what I could do to make a difference.
"My cousin is a very outdoor loving person, so going for the Three Peaks challenge in 24 hours was an obvious project to organise.
"The amount of support we’ve received has been amazing: New College have donated transport and fuel, Laser Quest in West Swindon have helped me publicise the event and South Swindon MP Robert Buckland MP and my local councillor Tim Swinyard are also helping me."
Thomas hopes the team will raise £5,000 for the trust; 20 per cent has already been achived."
