Bluebird Care, the UK’s leading provider of care at home has opened a new office in Church Street, Swindon. The office will provide tailor made care in the home visits to customers and their families in Swindon and the surrounding areas, and intends to create at least 25 jobs by the end of the year.
The Bluebird Care, Swindon office is owned and operated by Ben Curtis, who has a wealth of experience in Care Services and is delighted to offer the highest quality care to those in need in the Swindon area. The official opening on Tuesday 20 September was attended by Mayor of Swindon, Councillor Ray Ballman, who was once a District Nurse.
“I am very pleased to be here at the launch of Bluebird Care, Swindon, who will be employing and training local people, and I wish them every success,” said the Mayor, “We live in an aging population, and we will need more well trained carers in the future.”
Ben ensured his own godmother received the care required when living independently became more challenging. “My godmother had no support and no knowledge of how to get it,” Ben says, “I gave my godmother help to remain independent as far as I could myself, but we really needed assistance.” This, together with ten years as a Trustee for the Robin Trust, a charitable organisation that trains carers in South Africa, laid the foundations for Ben’s commitment to providing high quality care in the home.
“Often, the questions about need for support don’t arise until, suddenly, it is required,” says Ben, “and there needn’t be a stark choice between moving to a residential home and living self-sufficiently. With the right care plan, customers can choose to remain in their own homes.”
I think what makes all the difference to people is good old-fashioned service. Courtesy and recognizing that everyone has their own preferences, likes and dislikes ensures that we deliver the support our customers ask for.”
Registered Care Manager, Christine Simpson works closely with Ben and brings twenty years of local and practical knowledge to Bluebird Care Swindon. “Good teamwork and attention to detail are so important,” Christine explains, “and are essential elements towards helping clients stay safe, comfortable and independent in their own homes.
“We have been delighted to receive best wishes from various organisations, such as TaxAssist and we very much look forward to providing quality services in the area, especially now that it is becoming more common and easier to help people to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible.”
Bluebird Care provides visits from 15 minutes (most care providers will only allow visits from 30 minutes), right up to comprehensive live in care. It is up to the customer to decide what they do and do not want. A care supervisor visits every customer before the care starts. This is to discuss their requirements and to create a care plan which programmes the visits. Care at home doesn’t just mean helping people to get up or go to bed but can also include shopping, sitting services or days out.
Bluebird Care are always looking for dedicated carers to join their growing team, so if you would like to have a rewarding career and enable people to live life to the full then please contact Ben or Christine on (01793) 698033, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
