A Swindon writer has been commissioned to write a 12 episode season for bigworldnetwork.com, a website that aims to provide quality literary entertainment for readers and listeners in episodic format.
Sam Kearns, who attended Greendown and New College, before going onto Southampton Solent University where he is taking a degree in Writing Contemporary Fiction, has been writing The Darkness under the Rainbow which premiers on Thursday 9 February.
Jim McGovern, founder and CEO of bigworldnetwork says: "The concept for BWN started in early 2011 and began to take formal shape in August of 2011. I wanted to create an entertainment option following the model of television episodes, but in a literary format. It’s not a new concept—Charles Dickens wrote in a serialized format—but it is unique in our day of technology with audiobooks and eBooks.
"I wanted to put a fresh spin on the concept of serialized, episodic literature, also including the option of audio, for the entrainment of our readers and listeners."
The Darkness under the Rainbow details the experiences of the survivors of the Terus Cataclysm, an event that caused three separate civilisations to tear themselves apart. Using one-to-one interviews which explains the discovery and subsequent colonising of the infamous ‘pleasure planet,’ Sam tells the story in honest, frightening detail.
The series will be released for free every week on bigworldnetwork.com and as a weekly audio instalment on Itunes.
