Have fun and raise vital funds for Helen & Douglas House Hospice
Sunday 23 February 2014, 1-5pm at Swindon MECA, Regents Circus, Swindon SN1 1PR
Suitable for 12+ years and all abilities
Mark and Jo Fry have already signed up to book their place, as they have a very special reason for supporting Helen & Douglas House.
They said “Our baby son Charlie was born with a condition that meant he could not stay with us for very long. Charlie stayed at Helen House with us and passed away on May 23 2012 when he was 17 days old.
"Helen House provided fantastic care for Charlie and our family. We were all so very well cared for and supported during that difficult time.
"Both Mark and I took part in the last Swindon Zumbathon to help raise funds for this amazing charity. We had so much fun and this year’s is promising to be even better”.
Sue Barrett, Charlie’s grandmother will also be lending her support by helping at the event.
Sue, who raised over £1,000 for Helen & Douglas last year when she had her head shaved, said; “ It wasn’t until we were in that sad situation that we realised that Helen & Douglas House even existed.
"There is nowhere closer to Swindon than Helen & Douglas House that can provide the specialist care and support that we needed which, to me, makes Helen & Douglas House Swindon’s local children’s and young people’s hospice.”
