Rumpus Theatre Company presents The Dead Hand
A gorgeously Gothic tale of horror, lust and black magic from the author of The Woman In White.
The year is 1850. Young, easy-going Arthur Halliday has come to Doncaster for the races, but all the hotel rooms are full… all, that is, except for one remaining twin room that he’ll have to share with a stranger. It’s not until he’s agreed to take the room that he discovers his roommate is recently deceased. Even then, all might be well … if it wasn’t for the dead hand …
Rumpus’s production of Edgar Allen Poe’s THE HORRIFIC CASE OF MR VALDEMAR last Autumn was “excellent … an enthralling and enticing show, with great performances … the tension created can be cut with a razor blade” (Northumberland Gazette) while DRACULA’S GUEST! in 2008 had “a brilliant final-scene twist that left the audience gasping” (Derbyshire Times).
Sit back, relax and be scared in the chillingly safe hands of Rumpus Theatre Company…"masters of the high audience appeal production" (Times)
… death is only the beginning!
