Thrings’ Personal Injury Team are bravely taking part in the 2013 National Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for our four local Headway Groups; Bath, Bristol, Salisbury and Swindon – this is to include 18 staff members.
The Three Peaks Challenge involves the excruciating task of climbing and travelling between Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mt Snowdon consecutively! We will start to climb Ben Nevis in the afternoon of 1 June 2013 and hope to have completed Snowdon on 2 June.
We at Thrings know all too much the devastating effect that a Brain Injury can have on sufferers and their loved ones, so we are training hard to ensure that everyone in need of support can obtain it on their doorstop.
Victims of brain injury require a huge amount of support. Some people need help learning to walk and talk, others require assistance with their memory and others may just need someone who is in their shoes to share experiences and support.
National charity Headway is an essential lifeline for these people. They operate local centres around the country providing a place for those suffering from brain injuries to meet new people, obtain advice and support, and aid their development. We strongly believe in the work that Headway provides, to the extent that some of our staff are the trustee’s of Headway’s Swindon Charity.
We are aiming to raise at least £5,000 to be split between Headway Bath, Bristol, Swindon and Salisbury – we have currently raised £4,125.00, 82% of out target. I am sure you will appreciate the enormity of this challenge and the extreme physical and mental demands we are placing upon ourselves to complete the challenge.
Any support by way of sponsorship that you may be able to give would be greatly appreciated. We have set up a JustGiving page to make it easy for you: https://www.justgiving.com/teams/ThringsPeaksChallenge.
Here you will be able to select which Headway branch you wish to sponsor. As trustees of Headway Swindon, and living in Swindon we would be grateful if you could direct your sponsorship to the local branch. However, if people have a personal reason for wishing to sponsor one of the other three branches, then we fully understand their decision to do so.
