Local committee ready to hand out the first of the cash
More than three years after the National Lottery announced that Toothill was one of the first 50 communities across Britain to receive £1 million for community development projects over ten years, a local coordinating committee is ready to hand out the first of the cash.
The first Toothill Big Local Community Chest will go live in October after the completion of training sessions explaining the criteria for making applications for funding.
These take place at Toothill Community Centre on:
• Tuesday 2 October, 3.30pm to 5.30pm;
• Thursday 10 October, 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
Groups and organisations in Toothill will have the opportunity to apply for grants up to the value of £500 until 15 October with £3,750 in the first funding round until the end of 2013.
A second funding round of £15,000 for 2014 will go live on 1 January 2014.
The Toothill Big Local have launched a photography competition for Toothill residents to find twelve ‘Images of Toothill’ to appear in a 2014 calendar.
Entries should be emailed by 30 September to: Toothill.firstname.lastname@example.org or posted to Toothill Big Local, Community Centre, Dunwich Drive.
Entries should be marked ‘Photo Competition’ and include your name, age, address, and telephone, as well as the photo location.
