The committee getting ready to disburse the National Lottery £1 million allocated to Toothill under the Big Local programme is holding open air ‘pop up’ events for children and parents/carers.
Rather than organise a big summer festival, the six events in open spaces around Toothill will give people the chance to learn the latest about Big Local – which was announced almost three years ago – and discuss the kind of projects that could be funded by the lottery money targeted at Toothill.
The free barbecues will take place (weather permitting) on:
Thursday 25 July, 3pm to 5pm, outside Toothill Community Centre;
Friday 2 August, 1pm to 3pm, Westlea Park;
Monday 5 August, 11am to 1pm, Markenfield Park;
Tuesday 13 August, 2pm to 4pm, Toothill Farm;
Wednesday 21 August, 11am to 1pm, Belver Park, Beaumaris Road.
The pop ups are aimed at Toothill children, but younger children need to be accompanied by parents.
Apart from the barbecues, there will be a variety of activities organised for each venue, though a litter pick will take place at all of them.
