People Power provided the ideal event to celebrate Solomon Training’s 10th anniversary of delivering first class training in maths, English and IT to people in the local community.
The People Power programme was designed to provide valuable information to jobseekers about the help available to them through local support groups and voluntary organisations, and includes inspirational speakers, help and advice about CVs and advice and tips about interview skills.
Solomon Training formed exxactly ten years ago
Solomon Training UK Ltd was formed by Tania Jones and Wim Vermeer exactly ten years ago to the day on 10th April 2003, and the training courses were held in Goddard Park Primary School.
The company then moved to the Penhill Learning Centre and from there in 2004 re-located to its present home in the Shaftesbury Centre, Percy Street in Rodbourne.
The company, a Microsoft IT Academy, also delivers maths and English training to the equivalent of GCSE ‘C’ level, and thanks to government funding the training is free to eligible jobseekers.
Director Tania Jones said, “It’s quite a coincidence that our regular monthly People Power event fell on the exact day and month that Wim and I set up Solomon Training ten years ago.
Many changes in the training industry over the years
“We have seen a lot of changes in the training industry over the years and despite the business challenges we faced, we continued to provide a first class service and have helped hundreds of people, mainly jobseekers, gain valuable skills and qualifications.
“We are looking forward to the future, and will be providing maths and English again from next month including a personal money management programme. This is free to jobseekers looking for help to manage their finances.”
Jobmatch IT programme
The company will also continue delivering its popular Jobmatch IT programme for those learners with little or no computer skills. Staff training is also available to local organisations at a reduced cost.
Solomon Training works closely with several local support organisations and attends Swindon Jobcentre Plus on a regular basis.
