The Town Gardens Café has reopened for business under new management of Carol Watts, from Old Town.
Carol, aged 50, who has 25 years of experience in the catering industry, will be selling a wide variety of coffees and teas, along with organic home-made cakes.
She said, "This is a dream come true. I have always enjoyed walking around the Town Gardens because the surroundings are so beautiful. I've had my eye on the café for years, but never thought it would come up. When it did, it was an irresistible opportunity.
"I aim to provide plenty of choice and very high quality refreshments. There will also be banana splits and knicker bocker glories to appeal to children. The cafe will be open all year round. During the colder months I plan to serve soup and jacket potatoes."
The café has been closed since February following the ending of the agreement with the previous tenant. During the same period the Queen's Park Café, previously occupied by the same leaseholder, has also been closed and the tender process to find a new leaseholder is ongoing.
Cllr Brian Mattock, Swindon Borough Council Cabinet Member for Local Environment, said: "The Town Gardens Café has been sadly missed since it closed and I am delighted that it is reopening in time for the bank holiday weekend, so residents and visitors can enjoy it again."
The opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday, 10am to 4.30pm.
