Georgia Clements, 16, had a little more on her mind than going to the Lydiard Park Academy prom on the weekend of 7 and 8 July as she had an important date to retain a national title.
She left her classmates enjoying themselves at the Cotswold Four Pillars Hotel so that she could travel to the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham to compete at the 2012 National trampoline and DMT (double mini-trampoline) championships.
Georgia edged through the qualifying round selection and in the finals two solid passes secured the highest marks and the over 15s national title for the second year running.
Georgia also took part in the trampoline competition where her team won gold in the under 17 category as well as a team silver medal for DMT.
Her mum Donna said: “It was a very successful weekend for Georgia. She’s very dedicated to her sport and was willing to pull herself away from her end of school celebration to pursue her dream.”
Georgia has just started a Sports and Exercise Science diploma course at New College and continues to train five times a week in Bracknell with the Edgbarrow Trampoline Club.
