We are about to undertake one of the biggest challenges of our lives.
In October we will be attempting to trek to Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas in Peru. This is in aid of the Salvation Army, a charity that does great work in supporting some of the most vulnerable people in society.
The 10 day trip will include work on a local project, acclimatising to the altitude and embarking on a 4 day gruelling trek up the mountains to reach the final destination of Machu Picchu.
Although this will be a huge challenge we are really looking forward to it and are already training hard in preparation.
Our fundraising target for the trip is £4000 per person but we are hoping to raise more than this to support the Salvation Army’s vital work.
We are supporting and fundraising for Booth House in Swindon. Booth House is a Salvation Army Lifehouse which is a 50 bed residential resettlement centre for homeless adults.
It is more than a hostel or shelter because as well as providing accommodation it also provides education, training, work experience and social activities for single men and women in a supportive environment.
Recycles and The Sandwich People are just two examples of successful social enterprises that are run by those who have experienced homelessness, but who have been given another chance at building a life for themselves.

In return for a donation we would be more than happy to wear your company t shirt or carry a banner with your logo on it and take photos during our trek.
These could be used in your company newsletter or for PR in local press. Please make any cheques/CAF vouchers payable to the Salvation Army.
Any amount that you are able to give would be greatly appreciated and will be used to help those who are most in need.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
With best wishes,
Rebecca Ireland and Lois Mann
