Swindon based BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, which employs over 250 people, is offering two paid one year apprenticeships to school or college leavers who are Swindon residents. The Institute, which is the professional body for those working in IT, is offering two youngsters the chance to experience a broad grounding in business administration.
Martyn Lambert, Chief Executive Officer of BCS Learning & Development Ltd, part of the Institute, explained: “This is a great opportunity for two young local people to gain some real work experience combined with recognised qualifications. They will have the opportunity to rotate around several of our departments, gaining real expertise in business administration and experiencing work in a wide variety of different roles.”
The apprentices will work across the Institute’s customer service, membership operations, finance and examinations offices working as team members towards a plan designed to grow their strengths and skills.
Martyn added: “We are creating these apprenticeships in order to provide job prospects within our local community. At the end of the one year scheme we hope to be able to offer the successful apprentices permanent roles.”
The successful apprentices will be based at the Institute’s head office at North Star House. They will receive £400 a month, travel expenses to college plus extensive employment benefits such as 23 days a year paid holiday, private medical insurance, social club with subsidised events.
Anyone interested should email firstname.lastname@example.org explaining why they should be selected for the role, including their home address, date of birth, qualifications, and details of any previous work experience (paid or unpaid).
The closing date for applications is 23 November 2012.
