At approximately 2.00 am on Saturday 9 November 2013, a single vehicle road traffic collision occurred involving a pedestrian and a black Vauxhall Corsa.
The incident happened on Great Western Way between the North Star roundabout and Bruce Street Bridges. The Vauxhall Corsa had been travelling west along Great Western Way from the North Star roundabout towards Bruce Street Bridges.
Sadly, the pedestrian, Mr Bryan Robert Sutton, aged 53 from Swindon, sustained serious multiple injuries. Despite medical treatment given by police officers and ambulance staff he died at the scene.
The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, a 17 year old man, also from Swindon, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Great Western Hospital for treatment and underwent surgery to his hand.
Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw a Vauxhall Corsa in the vicinity of Great Western Way around the time of the collision. They would also like to speak to anyone who saw Mr Sutton in the town centre prior to the collision.
