Irish audiences were bowled over by Wessex Male Choir, led by new Musical Director Katrine Reimers.
Katrine studied music at King’s College, Cambridge and has conducted numerous vocal groups across the country, from community choirs to choral societies and professional choruses as well as working with English National Opera and the Royal Opera.
Katrine says “It’s a joy to lead this fantastic group of singers, whose commitment, talent and creative receptivity show again and again why they make up one of the best male choirs in the UK”
The choir toured the Republic of Ireland recently, receiving standing ovations in both Dublin and Waterford.
In their concerts they premiered a Goff Richards arrangement of a Gershwin medley commissioned by former principal accompanist Mary New.
This is a young choir in comparison to other male choirs. The choir welcomes diversity and is interested in recruiting men over 18 years of age from any background.
