The West Swindon Forum will concentrate on outdoor issues on Monday 10 January, 7pm, in West Swindon Library.
On the agenda is discussion about work plans by developers to build 180 houses at Hook Street, Grange Park and 800 houses north of Peatmoor at Ridgeway Farm as well as information about the third phase of Shaw Forest Park and talk about the progress by Swindon & Cricklade Railway Society to extend the railway line into Mouldon Hill Park. Trains currently stop a mile short of the car park and society volunteers hope to set up a temporary station later this year. This will mean visitors will be able to ride a train from the park close to Taw Hill some three miles to the north, outside Cricklade.
Graham Weller of Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service will talk about incidents in West Swindon and a representative of the two Neighbourhood Police Teams in the West will report on dealing with crime and anti-social behaviour.
The West Swindon Forum is a meeting point for residents and councillors representing the three wards on Swindon Council. The meeting starts with coffee at 7pm.
