Wiltshire based businesses Monahans, Rygor Commercials, Premier Global and Lawn Tender, organisers of the White Horse Challenge, are delighted with the outcome of the 2008 event with participants in the sponsored walk raising £14,000 for The Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Richard Edwards from Monahans commented “This year we saw record numbers of people taking part and more money raised than in either of the two previous events. People who participate never cease to amaze us with their willingness to walk up to 55 miles in two days to raise huge amounts for this important local charity. Based on the success of this year we will certainly be organising the fourth event in 2009 and hope to raise even more money for the Air Ambulance Appeal then.
It was particularly good to see such a variety of people taking part, from business teams, to groups of friends, to Calne scout group who carried their flags and sang their way around the route.”
In three years the White Horse Challenge has raised over £30,000 for the Appeal which is a significant proportion of the amount the Air Ambulance needs each year to keep flying.
Dates for 2009 will be promoted on the event web site shortly so visit www.whitehorsechallenge.co.uk if you are interested in walking anything from 7 to 55 miles for charity.
