The Mayor of Swindon Michael Bray is looking for ordinary people who do extraordinary things for their town so that they can be recognised at the Pride of Swindon Awards in April.
You might know a child or an adult who has displayed remarkable courage, or somebody who has improved your area, an inspiring teacher, a neighbour who is always there – or a team of people who have pulled together for community benefit.
The awards recognise the contribution of such people to their town, people who are unsung and are just getting on with things for the common good.
Nominees must live or work within Swindon borough; all you have to do is submit up to 250 words explaining why the individual or the team should be considered.
Those chosen will be invited to a ceremony where they will be presented with a certificate recognising their contribution.
A select group of about 15 people will receive the ultimate accolade of a small enamel lapel badge depicting the 19th Century inspiration of Swindon’s growth and success, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. The names of the best-of-the-best will be engraved on a plaque mounted in the Central Library.
Entries should be sent by Friday 1 February to Pride of Swindon Awards, Civic Offices, Euclid Street, Swindon SN1 2JH or mail to: email@example.com
Don’t forget to include the name, address and contact details of the person nominated as well as your own.
