A new group has launched in Swindon to enable businesses to grow through high quality referral opportunities.
BusinessWise meets weekly on Fridays from 6.45am at Jurys Inn in Swindon town centre.
The group aims to serve the local business community with the power to steer activities, training and focus at a local level according to the requirements of its own members.
Nigel Pursall, chair of BusinessWise, said: “BusinessWise is an independent membership group with a referral-based structure, focused on securing new business for its members.
“As a not for profit organization, with no paid staff , we can keep our membership fees down so that even start-up businesses can afford to join and get their business off to a good start.”
Referral networking is different to ‘traditional’ networking in that the focus is on connecting people and businesses with complementary skills and similar clients and customers, for example, electrician, builder and plumber. The other members become an extension of each business’s sales team meaning great results can often come quite quickly.
BusinessWise operates on a non-competing basis and so only one business from each industry sector can be a member at any one time. The group is looking to expand to a membership of 30 within the next few months and in particular is looking for a mortgage adviser, graphic designer, estate agent, general insurance broker, florist, hairdresser, health & safety and people in the building trades.
Training is also provided to all new members on how best to generate referrals and experts are often invited to talk to the group on specialist business topics to help members grow their businesses.
