It takes time to build the confidence to perform your writing out loud and there is no better place to do so than in the supportive and relaxing atmosphere of Swindon Writers’ Café, writes organiser Hilda Sheehan.
The café is open at Lower Shaw Farm, Old Shaw Lane on the last Thursday of the month from 6pm until 10pm, starting with a potluck bring and share supper.
Participants offer up their poetry or prose during the evening. It’s an opportunity to share work and receive comments or reactions from the group, but there isn’t in-depth critical appraisal or lengthy discussion. Each reader has about five minutes to read their work out loud depending on the size of the group.
Whether you’re experienced or just beginning, you’re welcome to join in. The cost is £2. For details, mail: email@example.com
