The first Swindon Food & Drink Festival takes place at Lydiard Park on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June and you can win a ticket to it to meet some of the cooks you see on TV, as well as enjoy a wide range of cooking demonstrations, talks, food experiences and products, wine classes and live music.
Amongst the celebrity chefs taking part will the BBC MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace. You’ll be able to judge Gregg as he cooks up a storm of his favourite recipes.
Remember Cathryn Dresser from the 2012 series of BBC2’s Great British Bake Off. She’ll be encouraging visitors to get baking too.
TV presenter and hugely popular writer, Stefan Gates, renowned for his extraordinary food adventures in CBBC’s Gastronaut Live will mix cooking with science and French baker extraordinaire Richard Bertinet will demonstrate his passion for patisserie.
Pamela Chen More will demonstrate the Flavours of China and Tastes of Taiwan before Mark Lloyd shows how wild food can be a rich source of free ingredients to cook delicious with.
The head chefs from the Snooty Mehmaan Restaurant and Restaurant 56 in Faringdon will be sharing secrets and local contributions include Spanish recipes from Los Gatos, French cuisine from Bistro Les Chats, Fratello’s Italian dishes, and The Core will demonstrate how delicious raw food can be.
Over the two days Yealands Estate from Marlborough in New Zealand will be offering free international wine talks and tastings.
With a host of food producers there will be something for everyone. On Saturday the event runs from 10am to 7pm and on Sunday 10am to 5pm.
All demonstrations, classes, talks and music are included in the entry price of £7 on the day, or £6 if purchased online. Talks and demonstrations are on a first come first seated basis and the International Wine talks are limited to a maximum of 70 people to ensure a quality sampling and talk.
