1997 World Snooker Champion Ken Doherty is heading for Swindon’s 147 Snooker Club once again on Saturday 18 July for what will be a spectacular fundraising snooker exhibition.
The charity exhibition is in aid of Ronald McDonald House Bristol, and the Nepal Earthquake Appeal.
In tow for this year’s exhibition will also be peoples favourite John Virgo!
Virgo will be there to crack the jokes, tell some tales and commentate on the evening’s entertainment, providing further light-hearted banter throughout the evening and putting a new spin on the local exhibition.
147 Club owner Noel Paul added: “I feel very excited about Ken coming down to the club. I have known him for a few years now and I think he’s one of the nicest people you can meet on the snooker circuit. He really entertains the crowd well and has time for everyone.
“Having a world champion at the club is a real honour for us and can only be good for us and the sport in Swindon.”
Doherty will play a number of players during the night as well as Virgo performing trick shots and telling a few jokes and entertaining the crowd. There will also be the opportunity to talk to the stars and get photos and autographs.
Tickets to the charity exhibition are £20 for standard and £35 for VIP. A VIP ticket will get you a front row seat and early entry for a meet and greet with the pair before the event starts. Standard ticket holders are standing only.
VIP doors open at 7pm, Standard from 7:30pm. Exhibition starts at 7:45pm.
Tickets can be purchased from the club, based on Sheppard Street, Station Industrial Estate, Swindon, SN1 5DB. Call 01793 531506 for further details.
