The first Swindon Food & Drink Festival takes place on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June where you’ll meet some of the cooks you see on TV, enjoy a wide range of demonstrations, talks, try food and wine, all accompanied by live music.
Celebrity chefs taking part include BBC MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace who will roll up his sleeves and cook up his favourite recipes. Cathryn Dresser from the Great British Bake Off 2012 will be encouraging visitors to get baking.
TV presenter and food adventurer Stefan Gates of CBBC’s Gastronaut Live will talk science and cooking, whilst French baker extraordinaire Richard Bertinet will demonstrate his passion for patisserie. Local chefs from Los Gatos and Bistro Les Chats in Old Town, Fratello’s, the Snooty Mehmaan Restaurant and Restaurant 56 in Faringdon will be sharing secrets whilst staff from The Core will demonstrate delicious raw food.
On both days representatives of Yealands Estate, New Zealand will give international wine talks complete with tastings. There will also be many local food makers promoting their products; there will definitely be something for all interested in food.
