It was all chrome, shiny leather, glittering paintwork and well polished plastic from cars ancient and modern parked on the lawn of Lydiard House on 25 September – on a lucky day when the sun shone.
About 140 vintage cars and scooters were present for the second retro auto show organised by Kat Dixon and Ross Topham of RMJ Top Events, as well as new cars from seven Swindon dealerships. The 2014 event had under 30 cars presnet.
The much larger collection attracted a big crowd, with hundreds of people during the day peering closely at how cars used to look inside and out and dreaming of being able to own the latest Jaguar F Type or Maserati outside the front door of the house.
There was also a dance tent with tutors ready to give visitors a swing and vintage clothes stalls and refreshment vehicles.
