A self-help group called A Voice For Men which aims to support males in the town who have, or still are, victims of domestic violence,and/or abuse launched in mid-July.
There is no other group in the Swindon or surrounding area offering this opportunity for men of any age to come forward and explore their position.
Joint coodinator Simon Taylor says: “The group has two qualified therapists at the helm with a combined professional experience of over 20 years. Members of the self-help group can be assured it is fully confidential, secure and safe in accordance to the code of ethics established by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) of which I am a member.”
Now launched is www.avoiceformen.org.uk
The site is full of interesting information and statistics.There is also information on how too keep yourself by covering your tracks, there is safety advice on locking your mobile, internet web browsing security and ideas on safekeeping of documents you might need. It includes the latest press releases from national and local papers along with video blogs and updates on the group’s latest developments and charity fund raising activities.
There is also access to a secure forum for members to network and share viewpoints, express ideas or just simply start a discussion.
