After last year’s roaring success the Old Town Business Association are bringing back the event even bigger and better on Sunday 6 September, from 12noon to 5pm.
There will be more stalls in Wood Street offering a huge range of food and drink based around the Sausage and Ale theme, as well as loads of great live music and children’s activities.
Jan Wojtowicz, one of the organising committee, said: “We were blown away by the response last year and the atmosphere was fantastic, everyone had a great day. It was wonderful to see so many families relaxing in Old Town and discovering businesses that they had perhaps not realised are there. This year we are making sure we have even more great food and drink available and the whole of Wood street, as well as the Arts Centre’s forecourt, will be packed with stalls and music.”
The event is one of a series that have been put on to showcase the range, quality and diversity of businesses in Old Town. Huge crowds flocked to the Christmas lights switch-on last November and this year saw a Foods of the World event highlight the range of food in the area, with its mix of unique restaurants creating mouth-watering dishes from around the world.
June saw the launch of Old Town’s first ‘Tenner Festival’ where 25 businesses offered special deals for the week for just £10. This included hair salons, gift and craft shops, butchers, fishmongers, wellbeing centres, wedding shops, restaurants and cafes, and proved a great success with the public.
