Link magazine is now part of the Swindon based Positive Media Group and, with stablemate publications The Ocelot and The Business Exchange Wiltshire & Swindon, we have moved in with Excalibur Communications at Arclite House, overlooking Peatmoor Lagoon.
For Link it is a break from a long running relationship with Basepoint Business Centre where the magazine was a tenant for more than 10 years, the last of the original businesses which moved there soon after the building opened in 2005.
The September edition marks the 400th edition of Link magazine since it first published as a newsletter to the first 500 homes in West Swindon in December 1978.
Those quick on the maths, or who have grabbed a calculator, will have worked out that there have been 452 months since the first magazine came out. However for the first eight years Link came out as a community newsletter eight times a year, and in the 1990s for a few years there were only 11 editions annually when December and January were combined.
Nevertheless, giving away a magazine now with a print run of 28,000 which has always been entirely dependent on advertising for more than 36 years is an achievement of which we’re proud.
Businesses are as keen as ever to advertise in the Link and we continue to sustain the quality of content to ensure readers are well served with useful, relevant and trusted information.
This month The Business Exchange Wiltshire & Swindon is celebrating its second year of publication and The Ocelot has published 111 editions since it started in April 2006. It now publishes a Wiltshire edition and a magazine covering Oxford.
All the magazines now have a new telephone number which is 01793 744677.
