Kelly Morgan from Oakhurst has dreamt of becoming a professional boxer since she was five years old, after watching her father box in the British Army.
Having served in the Army herself, with tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, won a Commonwealth bronze medal in the javelin and played netball for England, Kelly has set herself the target of becoming world middleweight and super middleweight champion.
The 35 year old is one of only four professional female boxers in the UK. She made her ring debut fight in Bath on 18 July this year. In an overwhelming display of controlled aggression she knocked out her Hungarian opponent in 94 seconds.
Kelly puts in about 20 hours of intense training each week and is preparing for a stiffer test at the Oasis Leisure Centre when she goes up against World No 10 Elene Sikmashvili from Georgia on Saturday 24 October.
With the high ranking of her opponent Kelly hopes to attract a large following for the bout. Tickets are available at: www.kellymorganboxing.co.uk
