At some point between 6:00pm on Tuesday 20th – 7:00am on Wednesday 21st October 2015, at a house in Longthorpe Close in Toothill.
The suspect(s) entered the house via the front door and took a quantity of cash, and a watch with huge sentimental value.
The watch is described as an Omega 620 with two black side by side wrist straps, held together by a gold clasp and gold fastener. The watch has a nine carat gold casing with a white face, with black numbers and hands.
PC Jamie Brown said, “The victim is a 93 year old lady and the watch was left to her by her late husband over 40 years ago and she really wants it back.
“Thankfully the victim is okay and is a very strong lady who has a commendable attitude, however family and friends are clearly very upset about the incident especially due to the watch holding such sentimental value to all.
“I am asking for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen anyone acting suspiciously to call me. I’m also asking residents to be vigilant, especially if you have elderly or vulnerable neighbours. Anything suspicious should be reported to the police straight away.”
Witnesses are asked to call PC Brown at Gablecross police station on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be left anonymously.
