Hundreds of people braved the November night air to watch Union J deliver an exclusive performance and help switch on Swindon’s Christmas lights.
The boyband sensation arrived to the screams of their fans and gave the waiting crowds something to cheer as they flipped the switch on the multitude of illuminations throughout the town centre.
The rain unfortunately meant that fireworks could not be added to the festivities, but the show, held by inSwindon went on, including Heart presenters Ben and Mel, accompanied by the Gospel Choir and Swindon Dance providing some light-hearted entertainment before Union J’s arrival.
The presenters did mock the absence of Union J’s fourth member George, currently in the Australian bush, by producing a cardboard cut-out of the singer dressed in his outfit for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here.
