Following the great success of last year’s charity gift-wrapping service, Prospect Hospice volunteers will, once again, be on hand to wrap shoppers’ presents at The Brunel shopping centre in Swindon Town Centre.
Prospect volunteer wrappers will be in The Brunel Plaza (outside Sainsbury’s) each Saturday and Sunday from 28 November, until Christmas Eve. From 10am until 4pm on Saturdays and from 10.30am until 4pm on Sundays Prospect’s volunteers will expertly wrap shoppers’ gifts in return for a donation to the charity.
From Monday 14 December the gift wrapping service will run daily from 9.30am until 4pm (except Sunday 20 December when it opens at 10.30am). There is no charge for the service but shoppers are asked to be generous with their donations.
All wrapping paper and packaging materials are supplied free of charge by The Brunel Centre. Jane Stewart, the centre’s Marketing Manger said she is delighted to be able to help once again. “The Prospect gift wrapping was really popular last year so we were more than happy to support this great fundraiser once again. Our shoppers told us they really welcomed the service but we were especially happy to support it because it raised such a good sum for a worthy cause”.
Amy Francombe, Community Fundraiser for Prospect Hospice said how valuable the event is to the hospice. “Last year’s wrap raised almost £3,000 for the charity so we were absolutely delighted. We hope even more people will use the gift wrapping service this year, raising funds is absolutely vital to the running of the hospice, we just wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for the generosity of the people of Swindon.”
