Swindon Town have announced former player Martin Ling as their new manager on a two and a half year contract.
The former manager of Leyton Orient is looking to guide the Robins up the league and beyond, just as he did in the 1980’s and 1990’s as a player.
Ling arrived in 1986 to play only two games in 93 days, before returning in 1991 on a five year spell, helping to get Swindon into the Premier League.
Robins fans will be looking to the new manager to pull them out of the drop zone after a disappointing start to the season, and Ling has stated that he aims to make his stay as manager just as successful as his second spell as a player.
Swindon currently sit second-from-bottom, but are level on points with Crewe Alexandria.
