A Swindon based charity project has assisted a Kenyan family who suffered a house fire in October.
Younite Outreach Project is a Swindon based organisation who provide opportunities for people to volunteer directly at two schools for orphans in Kenya.
To date over 200 volunteers have been to Kenya with them and as an organisation they do everything they can to fundraise for the projects.
In October the organisation had some sad news regarding a family who live in the slum area near their partner school. Due to an electrical fault their home and all their belongings were lost due to a fire. Thankfully the family were unharmed but were left with nothing.
Thanks to Younite volunteers, the organisation were able to provide the family with a new home and belongings, something that, in any other circumstances, would take them years to build up again.
Without people directly supporting these schools the organisation would not have been in a position to help them so quickly.
If you would like to assist further with the Younite project in Kenya, you can get in contact with the organisation through their website: www.yoproject.org.uk.
Spaces are currently available on their two week Easter trip and they are holding a fundraising ball on Friday 5 February at the Marriott Hotel in Swindon.
