Families are invited to run, walk or cycle at various events throughout the week to raise money for charity in memory of 11-year-old cyclist Dan Climance who tragically died in a road accident earlier this year.
The traffic incident happened on Station Road, Purton in June this year after the Bridlewood Primary School pupil was hit by a roadsweeper.
The event will be raising money for the road safety charity BRAKE and will include various runs throughout the week as well as a family friendly fun run to be held on Sunday 29 November at Coate Water, with further events being held at The Sun Inn.
Families are invited to run, walk or cycle a lap around Coate Water and then join each other at the Sun Inn afterwards, where there will be a cake bake and raffle as well as a special furry guest.
The suggested entry fee is £10 for adults and £5 for children and once you have competed your run between the 23-29 November (Road Safety Week) please post your finishing pictures on the Facebook page (Doing it for Dan – Virtual Race).
