Swindon-based motor dealership, TH White Fiat Group Brand Centre, has begun a forward-thinking partnership with Wiltshire Police which will see an all-new Jeep Renegade put to the test in a six month trial.
It’s a first for the dealership and also Wiltshire Police, where at the end of the test period, the force will have purchased the vehicle at a preferential rate.
The Renegade, based at Swindon Police HQ at Gable Cross, has been given a complete makeover by the force, with full police graphics, blue lights and sirens fitted.
It was chosen to join the force fleet as its compact size gives police off-road access to rural areas that larger vehicles are not able to reach. The Renegade has best-in-class off-road capability and first-in-class automatic transmission along with innovative Jeep Active Drive systems.
Andrew Carr, Wiltshire police Hub Superintendent based at Gable Cross Police Station, believes the Renegade has great potential to support the fight against crime in and around the Swindon area. He said: “We’re delighted to add the Jeep to our fleet of vehicles, it’s the first of its kind we’ve used as a marked vehicle.
“We’re confident this is the start of a rewarding relationship between Wiltshire Police and TH White Fiat Group Brand Centre.”
