North Swindon MP Justin Tomlinson, who is also the Minister for Disabled People, is encouraging people to don their glad rags and support Phabkids at a big fundraising event at the Village Urban Resort, Shaw Ridge Leisure Park, West Swindon SN5 7DW on Saturday 13 February.
Phabkids is a registered charity established 60 years ago to encourage and support youngsters with a range of disabilities and complex needs, enabling them to experience and enjoy greater independence and freedom. It makes a big difference to the lives of children and young people, and also to families by building confidence, independence and self-esteem, whilst breaking down barriers and creating friendships.
One of the organisers of the evenings is Lee Bladen who will also be running the 2016 London Marathon in aid of Phabkids. He along with his wife Sarah are selling tickets at £30 per person. Contacting Sarah on 07815 915965 or email email@example.com to book.
Justin will be speaking at the event which includes a 3-course meal, auction and entertainment. He commented: “As Minister for Disabled People, I know how crucial these fantastic charities are in helping disabled people to take part in activities and live life to the full. I hope that any Swindon residents who are free on 13 February will be able to come along and support their fellow local residents who are raising funds for this fantastic cause.”
